Mocha Mousse: Everything You Need to Know About the Colour of the Year 2025

The tradition of choosing the colour of the year goes back more than a quarter of a decade. This year’s shade suggested by the Pantone Institute is a light, chocolate-coffee brown Mocha Mousse. What interior design inspirations are worth exploring to revamp our own home in line with the latest trends? Here’s a hint!

Safe, enveloping browns have been tempting fashion and design lovers since last season. The Institute representatives themselves give the following reasons for their chosen colour for the coming year: “Underpinned by our desire for every day pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic (…) extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.”

Alluringly Cosy Interiors in Mocha Shades

The coffee accents of Mocha Mousse will work in many interior styles – the strength of this year’s trend is its versatility, among other things. The first associations are Japandi moderation and Scandinavian minimalism, although it doesn’t have to be that way at all! This rich, warm hue will perfectly accentuate powdery glamour style moods, and will also be a suitable backdrop for eclectic, bolder arrangements or boho homes.

Playing with colours in combination with this brown is real fun! Paired with white or neutral shades, the effect is subdued and harmonious; if ‘boosted’ with gold or copper accessories, the vibe becomes luxurious. Muted earthy colours (e.g. yellows, greens, soft blues), on the other hand, will allow us to create gentle compositions, suitable, for example, for the bedroom.

How to Bring Fashionable Brown into Your Interiors?

To make this winter’s most fashionable home purchases easier, we’ve put together a list for you. It doesn’t need to be anything revolutionary – even small changes can produce fantastic results!

In the coming season, look for:

  • decorative pillowcases,

  • atmospheric textiles (bedspreads, blankets, kitchen towels…),

  • ceramic vases,

  • flowerpot covers,

  • glazed mugs,

  • curtains with interesting textures,

  • new frames for paintings or photographs.

Or, if it’s time for a major makeover…

If you dream of refined interiors, reminiscent of the old money style and unimposing finesse, it’s worth considering whether to replace the joinery. Choosing timeless premium solutions, such as wooden windows and patio doors, will allow you to achieve cohesive, classy settings that do not pass with the fad. Wood is a durable, naturally beautiful raw material that also guarantees high performance, longevity and high thermal insulation. The professionals at DAKO will be happy to assist you in selecting unique, tailor-made solutions for your project – we kindly invite you to consult us.
