The Interior Design Show (IDS) in Canada has come to an end. We attended with a cross-sectional display of joinery solutions, including a folding door system, PVC windows, doors, and shading systems. What were investors looking for, what trends are shaping the local industry, and how can this year’s edition of the event be summarized? We invite you to read on!
Organized annually, IDS is a large-scale event that for over 25 years has been setting development trends in the Canadian design world, becoming a source of innovation and inspiration. During the latest edition, held on January 22–25, 2026, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, nearly 300 exhibitors from the broadly defined construction, interior design, technology, and architecture industries presented their offerings.
DAKO team of specialists, led by Alicja Biedunkiewicz, Export Sales Director for Non-European Markets, worked at a booth prepared jointly with a local Trade Partner, House Tune Up.
The joinery market in Canada is strongly focused on energy efficiency and compliance with legal standards, which is why our display was prepared with special attention to these requirements.
At the booth, we presented a wide selection of joinery solutions, including versatile PVC windows, modern exterior doors, and functional shading systems such as screens.
However, the greatest interest among visitors was drawn by the folding doors from the DA-77FD HD series, distinguished by their unique opening system.
During the trade show, DAKO team held numerous discussions with industry representatives, including contractors, design studios, architects, and engineers. We often received questions about European solutions, which are less typical on the Canadian market but are becoming increasingly sought after. These included triple-glazed windows, non-standard opening systems, and unique thresholds and locking systems designed for diverse climatic conditions.
Canadian investors were also particularly interested in our structural capabilities across various materials (e.g., aluminum) and innovations that enable us to create large-format profiles for windows and sliding systems.

Welcome to our report on the Batimat 2024 trade fair, during which DAKO presented its innovations in its offer. The successful event attracted crowds of visitors, and the brand's stand was very popular.
One of the leading trade shows in the construction sector - the Batimat trade fair - will kick off in Paris on September 30. During the event, we will present at our booth the latest product solutions, such as the DPX-76 PVC window system and the new half-lintel roller shutter. There will also be no shortage of well-known products, and visitors will have the opportunity to consult with a technologist.
