Brief Intro

Renovation of a historic tenement building situated in a compact urban setting of Montreal.

CHALLANGES

Aged, worn-out windows needed replacement across the entire historic building.
Harsh local weather conditions required excellent thermal insulation.
Windows couldn’t be a standard stock but be architecturally designed and custom-manufactured to specifi c measurements.

SOLUTIONS

The commercial property developer accepted our suggestion to utilize our DDR-78 series window models, which feature a rustic design with stylized edges on the external sashes, frames, and glazing beads.
We also recommended that the joinery be made of durable Meranti hardwood timber.
The windows were manufactured using a dual-color design: externally, they were fi nished in black, while the interior featured Classic Old Pine, Classic Mahogany, or White Lazur for selected building areas.

RESULTS

The building now looks even more beautiful on the outside, which is highly appreciated by its tenants.
Tenants also like that their premises are now well thermally insulated and off er more warmth in winter and cooler air during summer.
Thanks to this swift and successful window delivery, our Canadian partner secured an additional project from that client.
